Unbroken Story Telling Exercise 4

In this unbroken story telling, we will be looking into why Harry Young, decided to choose to pursue a career in the film industry, and the people that have helped inspire him/help keep him motivated, to do what he wants to do.

The areas that we would like to highlight during filming would be:
- What he's studying?
- What are his interests?
- What projects has he done/ been apart of?
- Who are the people that helped him and inspired him along this journey?
- What motivates him?

In each of theses stages I intend Harry to spend a max of 1 minute on each subject.

We have a rough idea of what shot sizes we want,  We decided to go through a practice runs of the story. To give us a better understanding on how Harry will move and what he would say, by doing this it will give us time to practice zooming in and out, also following harry's actions. This will give us a better result towards the end as the transitions from the camera angles will be a lot smoother. by doing this it will also give time for Harry to get his story more together and feel more comfortable and open about talking.

I hope to accomplish a smooth fluent interview with a range of shots and over all a look of continuity during the edit. I hope that by filming the same interview several times it will make editing easier.

Signals

  • Tap on shoulder - 5 mins almost up
  • Wave - bring interview to a close
  • moving hand up or down- signalling interviewer to sit down or get up

I would time the interview for 5 mins, then when time was almost up I would "tap" Harry on the shoulder signalling him to signal Harry Young with a "wave" so that he could bring the conversation to a close.

We will only have physical signals, not verbal as we think it will be very disruptive to Harry.
