In practice for the 3 way conversation, I filmed my family at the dinner table, talking about things that happened at work. I found that a lot of the time they ended up talking over each other and that they expressed them selves through there hands a lot.
By doing this exercise it made me understand the importance of reaction shots, because when looking back at the footage I had filmed. I saw that it was more interesting seeing the reaction of others than just the person telling the story. I saw that i was moving the camera around a lot to try and catch the person talking. This made me realize that in my group we would have to go over the seen several times to get a decent amount of shots of them speaking and reaction shots. we would also have to try and encourage them to not talk over each other so that during the edit it would be easer to match up the audio with each other. we would also have to give them a topic to talk about so that they wouldn't just talk about random things. this would also help structure the conversation and help it when bringing it to a close.
